Needless to say there have been times when Alexa simply irked you with voice commands. Even though the technology has been a masterpiece, still many improvements are required, as learned from its usage over the years.
What is ALEXA?
For those who don’t know what Alexa is – It is a personal assistant powered by voice commands. It is capable of voice interaction, music playback, making to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts, playing audiobooks, and providing weather, traffic, sports, and other real-time information, such as news. It can also assist in home automation.
But, voice commands are not feasible always.
Looking at this, Amazon has rolled out a new feature, that is only available to iPhone users as of now. The new feature will enable users to send a text message or a text command to their assistant, without using their vocal chords. This update has been rolled out silently and not everyone globally has been updated on the same.
This is also convenient for people having speech related issues, as they can now simply text a command to their assistant. Also, sometimes at night, it is more convenient to send a text command rather than speak out.
Even though Apple Siri and Google Assistant users have been typing commands for over years, its good to see Amazon entering into the segment.
