Billionaire lifestyles don’t come cheap, especially security. And that’s exactly what Meta keep in mind for Mark Zuckerberg security.

Meta, formerly known as Facebook, spent nearly $27 million (or about INR 207 Crores) for Zuckerberg’s security in 2021!

In year 2020, this figure stood at $ 23 million (approx INR 176 crores).

This expense includes $15.2 million that Meta spent on keeping its CEO safe at his various homes and during personal travels, as well as another $10 million that it gives as a pre-tax allowance to Zuckerberg for his family’s safety and yet another $1.6 million for use of a private aircraft for personal travel.

However, when compared with other CEOs, costs for Mark Zuckerberg’s security are fairly high. Amazon, for instance, spends just a fraction – $1.6 million – to protect its chairman Jeff Bezos, the second richest person on the planet.

Meta’s expenses on protecting Zuckerberg so steep that they’re higher than the combined cost of security for 10 other top tech CEOs in the world. This doesn’t include Elon Musk whose company Tesla doesn’t disclose his security costs.

Mark Zuckerberg was the subject of an ISIS threat video a few years back, which featured his face littered with bullet holes. Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s ex – CEO, also appeared in the video. 

Meta has spent over $110 million (approx INR 842 crores) for Mark Zuckerberg security in span of 5 years!
