With demand for content rising and ideas for content evaporating, Twitter has introduced a new feature – “Turn Off Retweets”
Using this feature, you can turn off retweets of a certain tweet on your timeline.
The following tweet was tweeted on it’s support page on Tuesday.
Why this option by Twitter?
This avoids duplication of content on your timeline as a tweet is shared by many users.
Also, if you like the tweets of a certain person, you will not like to see the customised retweeted version of the same in your timeline again and again.
Guess this move will increase the need for fresh content curation on Twitter. In-fact content readability has increase din year 2020 as compared to videos or live streams. The lockdown contributed to much of this rise. As a matter of fact, it predicted that in year 2021, content interactions will decline and videos will rise once again, in the post pandemic world.
