The witty platform, Twitter has acquired Breaker, the social podcast app.
In an announcement on the Breaker blog, Erik Berlin said, “Here at Breaker, we’re truly passionate about audio communication and we’re inspired by the ways Twitter is facilitating public conversations for people around the world. We’re impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit at Twitter and enthusiastic about the new experiences that the team is creating.”
Why did Twitter make this move?
Once upon a time, Amazon acquired podcast-maker Wondery and merged it with its Amazon Music division. Seems like the same strategy is being followed by Twitter.
However, for current users of Breaker, there’s a bad news – they have to migrate their podcasts to other services, failing which content creators might face unwanted interruptions in their podcasts.
