Since the time Instagram has launched ‘Reels’, it has been a great hit. So far, the only competitor to Instagram reels has been TikTok. Facebook recently announced that it has been testing a feature on Instagram that will allow users in India to share their insta reels to Facebook.
Currently, content creators can post a static image, in the form a post or a story from IG to FB. This new feature will allow content creators to share reels on the both the platforms simultaneously.
Even though the feature is in testing phase and FB hasn’t disclosed much details yet, all we know is that the duration of the reels on IG should be up-to 30 seconds to post it on FB.

Since the ban of TikTok and 69 other Chinese apps in India on June 29th, 2020, IG reels is looking for ways to get an edge over its direct competitor – TikTok. With such a feature coming into place, more and more content creators would be inclines to create reels on IG and post it directly on FB, as most the users are present on both the platforms.
As reported by Reuters, some Indian users who create the 30-second long reels on Instagram can have their videos appear on the Facebook news feed as well. In fact, Facebook is also planning to soon launch a reels-like feature on the app. “In India, we’re testing the ability for Instagram creators to choose to have their Reels recommended on Facebook… creators can reach new audiences and people can create and discover more entertaining content,” said a Facebook spokeswoman.
