Beware – There is no android version of Clubhouse

Clubhouse

Beware…A fake Clubhouse website at “joinclubhouse[.]mobi” has been doing rounds over the internet. The site itself looks identical to the real Clubhouse website, but it claims to offer an Android version of the app from the Google Play Store. However, if you download it, the Trojanized program will attempt to steal your logins from 458 online services, including social media platforms, cryptocurrency exchanges, and banking apps.

The malware will ask for access to all apps in a hidden manner and the users will not be notified about the changes taking place in other apps.

Using SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) to help prevent anyone from infiltrating your accounts wouldn’t necessarily help in this case, since the malware can also intercept text messages

Currently, the audio-only app is only available to iOS users.

Will Android users get Clubhouse?

Yes, as per reports by the audio only app, the work to create an app for Android users is under progress, and that’s all we know about it at the moment. The company hasn’t disclosed more details so far. We are just aware that its months since the app is officially revealed.
