Want to get some FACEBOOK content removed? Simply, appeal

Facebook

Starting April 13th, Facebook will accept appeals from users who want to get content removed from Facebook.

Process for Facebook content removal👇

Facebook Oversight Board

The Oversight Board is an independent panel that reviews content moderation decisions made by Facebook. After a user reports content to Facebook, there will be options to appeal the company’s decision. After the final appeal within Facebook is exhausted, a user will receive an Oversight Board Reference ID, which they can cite if they do appeal to the Oversight Board. The Oversight Board will then consider whether to take on the case and analyse whether the content at hand “violates Facebook’s Community Standards and values and international human rights standards.”

The Oversight Board says that in these cases appealing to remove content, no identifying information about the individuals who reported the content will be revealed in the details of their decision unless they were explicitly given permission to do so.

The social media giant has recently been taking decision that surprises most of us. Amidst the chaos of it’s other vertical, WhatsApp and the recent data leak, seems like the social media giant is trying to cover up the mistakes by offering something to its users that is not of much value. Perhaps, it’s time they focussed on what really matters.

Have you ever appealed to the social media platform for content removal. If yes, how did it work out for you.

On the contrary, has your content ever removed for the social platform, stating ‘violation of policies’ as the reason?
