Google Chrome has been recently testing a new feature – DARK MODE.
Like you guessed it, the dark mode is currently being used by many applications, and the lovers of the dark theme are in for more surprises for Google.
What is Google Chrome Dark Mode?
Dark mode apps can prolong the battery life of your smartphone. Google has confirmed that using dark mode on OLED screens prove to be blessing for the battery. For example, at 50% brightness, the Dark Mode interface in the YouTube app saves about 15% screen energy compared to a flat white background.
On the same grounds, as most of the searches are made using mobile devices, Google has introduced the dark mode. As in all other apps, the dark mode at Google Chrome can be turned on manually, or can be automated according to the location sunrise and sunset.
If automated, the dark mode will automatically turn off at sunrise and turn on at sunset. To use this feature, you need to have location services on.
As of now, Google Chrome dark mode is in A/B testing phase, and is not currently available to all the users. Some of the users who experienced dark mode, also said that the feature has not been implemented properly yet. It goes on and off intermittently, and at times does not even respond manually.
