There’s a lot of hustle on Social media these days, specially Instagram. After adding some new features in Reels, there’s an Instagram new feature under testing.

Instagram new feature is known as – ‘Take a break’

This feature would allow heavy Instagram users to take a break from the app after required intervals. This feature won’t be enabled by default and users will have to turn it on to receive in-app reminders to take a break from the Instagram app after continuously using it for 10, 20, or 30 minutes.

The feature has been announced by the company’s head Adam Mosseri to prevent Instagram addiction.

This Instagram new feature would be released to a small percentage of users in the coming days.

This comes after a Facebook (Meta) report, stating increasing addiction on Instagram.

Mosseri has also posted a short video on Twitter, where he explains that the new feature is being developed with a “broader effort to try and give people more control over their experience of Instagram.” He also asserted that Instagram users will see more features like this in the near future.

Apart from this, there’s another Instagram new feature in testing. This would be known as the Subscription feature. This feature would be somewhat similar to Twitter Blue subscription, wherein creators can choose to show some premium content only to those users who subscribe to a monthly fee. This would mean more monetisation options for creators/Instagram influencers.
