Facebook is working on a live audio and video feature for it’s Messenger rooms, somewhat one the same lines of the popular audio-based social app – Clubhouse.
Clubhouse is an audio based social platform, wherein, instead of text messages, you can converse with people real time, using audio across the globe. It was launched in April 2020 by Paul Davison and Rohan Seth of Alpha Exploration Co. Yes, Facebook has plans to implement something like that to its current user interface.
The social media giant hasn’t disclosed many details yet, but all we know so far is that you can use your voice to interact with people globally using 2 modes – LIVE audio or PRIVATE audio. To start with the messenger room will accommodate 50 people, which would be increased at a later stage based on the response and users.
The testing is in an embryonic stage at the moment, and it will take sometime to be converted to reality.
A Facebook spokesperson gave the old line about “always exploring new ways to improve (audio and video) experience for people.” But the mockups above show that the company has already done quite a bit of work on the new features.
It’s also notable that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently praised Clubhouse’s product.
