“More security to you” – FACEBOOK in 2021

FACEBOOK

The world’s biggest social media platform – Facebook has promised to make it even safer in 2021, by the introduction of physical safety keys. It will an added layer of security which users can use to make their account more secure while logging in.

What are Physical Safety Keys on FACEBOOK?

Hardware security keys (also called security keys, U2F keys, or physical security keys) add an extra layer of security to your online accounts.

Do all users have to elect for this this option?

No, this is an optional extra added security layer for people who want to use it. In the initial stage, the function would be rolled out in the Unites States. This move comes after many high-profile accounts, including that of presidential elect – Joe Biden was compromised by hackers in July 2020.

FB has named this option as FACEBOOK PROTECT.

At present, there is a two-factor authentication security on FB, but, as hacking and phishing attacks are on the rise, guess it’s way for some added physical security, as well!
