This Valentine’s day, there’s some cute new features on Facebook Messenger. The most handy* one – Split Bill Payments using Facebook Messenger.
*we ain’t talking about Valentine’s date here! 😉
See the screenshot below – you can now request that a total payment amount be split between members of a chat. Messenger will then allocate the required amount to each user, enabling simplified, fee-free bill splitting via the app for those who’ve registered their payment info.
How to split bill payments using Facebook Messenger?
The new feature is called ‘Split Payments’ and is very simple to use. To spit the bill, click on ‘Get Started’ button in a group chat or on the Payments Hub on Facebook Messenger. Now you will get the option to split the bill where you can either split it evenly or add individual amount by using the modify option.
After entering a personalised message and confirming your Facebook Pay details, your request will be sent and viewable in your group chat thread.
‘Split bill payments using Facebook messenger’ feature is currently available in United States on iOS and Android devices.
Cool…Isn’t it!? Do try it out.
There’s one more new Facebook Messenger feature that need mention – Messenger is adding the capacity to preview your voice messages before sending, while it’s also increasing the duration of voice messages from 1 minute to 30 minutes.
Lastly, Messenger Kids is also getting in on the Valentine’s Day celebration with new artwork and interactive options to help kids join in with the event.
There are new frames and Valentine’s Day stickers for Messenger Kids.
“Starting today, kids can share virtual valentines with approved contacts using new AR effects, photo frames and sticker packs. Try shooting arrows as baby cupid, dancing around as the Queen of Hearts, or adding a sweet touch with glowing heart cheeks.”
This feature is also currently available for United States users only.
