There’s this awesome new feature by Instagram called ‘PRONOUNS FEATURE‘. Pronouns feature enables you to add 4 pronouns to your profile so people know how to refer you.
Under the pronouns feature, you can now add 4 pronouns to your profile and edit or remove them at your will. You can also choose to display pronouns to only people who you follow – Instagram tweeted in a post on Wednesday. Here the excerpt from Instagram twitter page related to ‘Pronouns Feature’ –
The new pronouns field is currently available only in a few countries, with plans to roll it out to more countries soon. For the users who have received the feature, you can add pronouns by clicking the ‘Edit profile’ option. Users can add up to four pronouns, which will display next to their name on the profile.
Pronouns Feature will allow you to add pronouns like:
- co / cos
- e / ey / em / eir
- fae / faer
- he / him / his
- she / her / hers
- mer / mers
- ne / nir / nirs
- nee / ner / ners
- per / pers
- they / them / theirs
- thon / thons
- ve / ver / vis
- vi / vir
- xe / xem / xyr
- ze / zie / zir / hir
Yes, the pronouns feature will have the option to mix and match the pronouns.
Should you not find your pronoun, a user can submit a request to Instagram. If the pronoun option is not available on your device (it has to have the latest Instagram update), the app suggests including your pronouns in your bio.
How to use PRONOUNS FEATURE?
Instagram help also stated that users under 18 (minors), will have the setting automated to show pronouns only to followers. (Reason unknown)
A pronoun (I, me, he, she, herself, you, it, that, they, each, few, many, who, whoever, whose, someone, everybody, etc.) is a word that takes the place of a noun.
