Reddit has always been mysterious about sharing its usage stats. Recently, it revealed to Wall Street Journal, that it has 52 million daily users! It has made this move so that the metrics can be compared to other platforms. It is owned by media conglomerate – Advance Publications.

What is Reddit?

Reddit is an American social news platform and a discussion website.

It allows every user to create and manage their own community, which is know as a sub-reddit. Like all social media platforms, It is also a Web 2.0 platform, which consists of User Generated Content (UGC). It is popular because it contains a lot of knowledgeable information about varied topics.

It is most popular among users aged 25 to 29.

A simple way to differentiate FB and Reddit would be – Facebook shows you updates shared by people you know, Reddit shows you informational updates by people you don’t know.

The platform is very popular in the United States, but not very popular in India, a country where Social Media means more of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Furthermore, advertising on Social Media, a.k.a., Social Media Marketing also comprises of the platforms shared above.

In total, Social Media sites have 3.6 billion users across the globe.
