We recently came across a poll on LinkedIn for Social media Marketers. The goal of the poll was to find out which of the platforms should be the main focus for social media marketers. In this article, we will share the findings of that poll.

As you can see in the screenshot above, majority of the users chose LinkedIn, garnering 43% of the vote. Which underlines the opportunities of LinkedIn for marketing – but as some of our readers have noted, there is a fairly significant platform bias in these polls, with the platform you’re posting to generally favoured heavily by the results.

And guess what’s next, the same poll was posted on Twitter, with Twitter not being an option! And the results were –

It is worthy to note here that Instagram leads the results by a huge margin.

Food for thought here is that TikTok has been exponentially growing since last 6-8 months, and Instagram has been literally copying the new kid on the social media block. However, TikTok doesn’t lead in the marketer’s focus poll.

Perhaps the reason for the same could be that TikTok cannot be used for promotions by everyone. It is more of a casual watching platform, rather than following a sales centric approach. Another reason could be TikTok ban from India, which is a huge market for social media, taking into account the population of the country.

Another point to be noted for inclination towards Instagram is the link to Facebook. Social media marketers really admire tat the two platforms (Facebook and Instagram) are connected via Accounts centre, allowing ease of access across both platforms.

It’s interesting to get a gauge on where marketers are looking, and how different apps are trending in terms of business priority.
