TikTok Adds New Tools To Improve Digital Wellbeing

With homo sapiens spending average 2-3 hours daily on social platforms, Digital Wellbeing is a must. To promote Digital wellbeing, TikTok has added New Screen Time Breaks, Usage Tracking Tools.

This means that TikTok users will have break reminders to limit the endless scrolling in feed, and a new dashboard for monitoring screen time.

As you can see in the screenshot above, TikTok’s new ‘Scheduled Breaks’ option will prompt users to implement break reminders in 10, 20 or 30 minute intervals in order to avoid spending too much time in the app.

In addition to this, the new screen time summary serves a similar purpose, by showing exactly how many hours you’re wasting away on memes and trending videos. (See screenshot above)

In the words of TikTok –

“We’ll also be introducing weekly digital well-being prompts for younger members of our community. When someone aged between 13 and 17 has used the app for more than 100 minutes in a single day, we will remind them of our screen time limit tool the next time they open the app.”
