WhatsApp is biased for Indian users!

WhatsApp

Seems like WhatsApp is biased towards its biggest market – India! Here’s how –

WhatsApp treating Indian users different from their European counterparts.

The latest WhatsApp update in regard to it’s privacy policy was already shocking enough…to add to the misery, there’s a double whammy – WhatsApp is treating Indian users different from its counterparts in Europe, w.r.t., privacy policy.

As reported by PTI, the central government told the high court that this differential treatment of Indian users is a “matter of concern”. It said that the Indian users are being “unilaterally” subjected to the change in the privacy policy by the Facebook-owned company. The submissions were made before Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva by Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Chetan Sharma during the hearing of a petition by a lawyer against the new terms of services.

During the hearing, ASG Sharma told the court that since WhatsApp is not giving its Indian users the option to reject the new privacy policy, it seems that the company is treating users with an “all or nothing approach”. This “all or nothing” approach by WhatsApp has also raised the alarm among privacy activists who condemned the instant messaging platform for forcing users to accept its new terms of service.
